Good Saturday morning all. Currently 11°C and overcast. We ended up having rain most of yesterday, which was very needed.
My dog Thunder had me up bright and early this morning. He was pacing and licking and itching and when I got up to see why I discovered what I think is called a hotspot on his neck. There was a little something there yesterday, and the puppy was licking it, but it didn't look like the horrible wound it is now. Hoping to get him in to see the vet this morning.
Not sure what the rest of my day looks like yet ... Have someone coming to look at the truck for sale
Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 16°C and overcast. There is rain in the forecast for the next few days - which we need so badly to bring up the water table and get our well filled up again.
Got Thunder some medication at the vet yesterday and it cost me $256. Hes been much better about scratching, but my concern is now the puppy biting at it. Always something around here! Lots of work to do around the house and yard today, hope to get lots done.
Have a great day all :)

Vet bills are high, aren’t they.
I hope that pup heals properly.
    What causes the itch?

    Happy Sunday morning :)

It has been a long time away from the Stewbies - too long. I am hoping to read back and catch up a bit.

Our weather here jumped from summer to fall to winter, and back to fall within a few weeks. Today, after giving my neighbour a hair cut and a dinner to take home, I'm hoping to finish putting away the last of my greenhouse and tomato cages/stakes etc. Everything was tucked away hastily last week just before -10 and a few days with snow. There is still a little snow in shady areas, but we are warming up a bit today. Highs of 8 and lows of -2.

I hope after a town trip on Tuesday I can finish splitting the last of my cedar for kindling, and then put away the wood splitter. The splitter and my snow blower change spots in the shed - shift workers. :)

And then...maybe slow down and rest a little. I'm eager to start walking again. Angus doesn't come anymore - yet still seems to find the pep to chase the fox across the field. Then...he rests for three days hahaha. The hope is to start walking in the mornings starting tomorrow. :) And to peruse some seed catalogues for next year.

    Have a wonderful day everyone.

So nice to see you back Melody!
Good Tuesday morning all. Currently just 2°C and overcast. There is some rain in the forecast today.
Woke up in the middle of the night to a cat howling outside my window. That is the first time that has ever happened in the 22 years that we have lived here. We don't have a cat, and neither do my neighbours. I had a horrible nights sleep after that and now I'm up getting ready for work.
I think its going to be a long day.
Have a great day all :)

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 8°C and overcast. There is rain in the forecast again today, hopefully it doesn't amount to too much between the hours of 7am and 2pm when I'll be trying to work outside haha We do need the rain though, for our water supply. Our well has been keeping up with us but we have been using water sparingly.
Yesterday was a long day after the night with no sleep. After work I wanted to go home and have a nap, but my daughter had plans of going to the rink. I did manage to get to bed early though, and I feel pretty good so far. No cats howling outside my window last night.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning. Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I've been saddened watching the demise of my country and democracy. I finally came to terms with it and am less distraught.
We are already making plans for Thanksgiving, i.e. stocking up on non-perishable items needed for cooking. There is still a lot of pumpkin puree in the freezer, and a small turkey breast there, too. Also, we dropped off a check to the local food pantry, hoping to help our with holiday dinners for those in need. I dearly love the holidays--and my husband, bless him, does too.
So, hope your day goes well, and your plans do also!

Good Friday morning all. Currently 7°C and overcast. Another dreary day.
I have the day off today, and its going to be a busy one - We are going to an afternoon wedding. I finally found a dress to wear just yesterday, and I hope I'll be warm enough. Its going to be cool and rainy. But first, I have someone coming to look at the truck for sale.
Have a great day all :)

Apart from the garden and other household jobs, I spent some time today looking through the handbook of the car I've had now for nine months. There's a lot of facilities of which I'm not aware, as I have had no reason to use them. But I learned that in the event of a collision, "the car" will decide how serious it is and whether it should call the emergency services. If it thinks they will be needed, it will call them.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently just 4°C and overcast.
I had a good time at the wedding yesterday, and was home by 9:30 as I was my own designated driver. I woke up this morning not knowing if I was home alone or not - my daughter stayed at her sisters babysitting and my son went out with his friends. If he came home I didn't hear him and even the dog barking didn't wake me up. I have to pick up my daughter shortly as she has skating this morning. Later today my new 4 wheeler is getting delivered, and this afternoon I have someone coming to look at the truck for sale. Once he is gone I can go riding. Should be a great day!
My car does that too. It allowed me to make that choice when I bought the car new. It also reminds me to check the back seat when I leave the car if I choose. Makes me wonder why it does that ... do people actually forget their children back there? :headscratch:
Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -3°C and clear. Its actually going to be a sunny day today!
I got my new ATV delivered yesterday, and went out on it for an hour or two yesterday. Today I have made myself a list of things I have to do before I am allowed to play on it, starting with cutting down the back garden and putting away the garden ornaments. I also need to winterize the water pump in the greenhouse. After that is done, I can go 4 wheeling. Thats probably the best motivation for getting the work done.
Also got out some steaks for grilling tonight.
Have a great Sunday all :)

Yesterday we received a thank you note from the local food pantry/thrift store. Such a nice gesture!
Today we are emptying out the refrigerator in anticipation of the delivery of a new one tomorrow. The old (20 years or a bit more) one died. Fortunately we have a freezer and two ice chests that will hold our food until the new one arrives.
Netty, we envy you those steaks. The price of beef is so high here (in the middle of cattle country!) that we haven't had beef for quite a while. We have found we don't really miss it.
There is a Formula 1 race on TV this afternoon, and we'll be watching it. C'mon Max!!!
