Cryptomeria tree in the right side of pic below changes from bright green to copper brown /golden color in winter.
Cryptomeria japonica Elegans is an important tree in forests. It’s slow growing , insect and decay resistant and beautifully textured which makes it suitable for sustainable timber production. The national tree in Japan and holds considerable cultural importance. It’s slow growing and one of the easiest trees to manage year round in the entire garden.

Nearly 30 million acres of Oregon landscape is covered in forests which is almost half the state covered in various species of trees. Forest management and the state government is always involved with continuing education to the public . Several museums dedicated to the forestry service, logging along with a huge lumber & Xmas tree export in the PNW. Conservation, Education and Research is a huge benefit for the economy.

Basically I live in the middle of a rain forest . So trees have become a lifestyle in many ways . They cool the home in summer and protect the home in winters. The vast resources available along with the1000 varieties and sub-varieties of trees , as well as living in the world’s most productive forests on earth . This offers no escape from learning about trees especially when you’re surrounded by these majestic trees while logging continues all around you . You know some information has got to rub off on Oregonians living in the world’s most beautiful forests with the largest classification of deciduous and evergreen trees . That is why most of my garden is dedicated to trees. :smt055 Luv my trees.

Very nice autumn color Zigs . The name of the plant escapes me at the moment . I had some of that in my garden but abolished it , as it was extremely invasive in this zone. It’s a very pretty fast growing deciduous small tree or shrub.
