Aww those are so tiny… wow Zigs you got a good eye . What kind ? Do you know? I see them a lot around here to… this is mushroom season.. be safe , Especially when out hunting for delicate culinary delights.
Nature is full of endless beauty and wonder, literally! So thank you for showing us yet another delightful aspect of the wonderful world around us.
Zigs we have a lot of those tiny shrooms all over the pastures. In fact all sorts of colors sizes and shapes. It just means you have good soil, or a lot of rain or maybe they are growing everywhere in autumn because of cooler conditions or a good supply of organic matter when conditions are right. Spotted these today out trimming the pine trees. FYI. Did you know squirrels eat mushrooms and other fungi as a regular part of their diet they can eat poisonous varieties that are toxic to humans they also store them by hanging them in trees to dry for a]later snacks. Olds, voles and ground squirrels exhaust in underground tunnels , set up house keeping as well as a section for body waste. These areas are usually set up around tree roots . Mushrooms mark the wast areas above ground always around roots of trees growing above ground in cemiteical
They look brilliant Pac I'd heard about Squirrels drying them, cool I think I did a video about folk disappearing in Fairy rings a few years ago, I'll go and find it
