Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -3°C and partly cloudy.
Yesterday turned out to be a nice day. Sunshine and 5°C, so I took advantage and got a bunch of stuff done out in the yard. I tried to burn my brush pile, but it was just too wet from 2 weeks of rain/snow so it wouldn't burn. Maybe I'll try again in a few days. I did get the last of the leaves mulched and the last grass cutting done as well. We also took the dogs to the park for a walk, and they really enjoyed it. Today, I'm off to do my errands and shopping a day early.
Have a great day all :)

Good Wednesday! Like Netty, w e are trying to tidy up outside. We are hoping this will be the last grass mowing until spring, but who knows? With Texas weather, the grass may keep on growing!
I baked some Christmas breads this week to stash in the freezer for gifts in December. I received my list of "to makes" from Meals on Wheels and being a newby (to them, not to cooking) they sure made it easy on me--fresh cranberry sauce (wait until the recipients get some cranberry chutney instead of the semi-jello stuff), and hot rolls. They are probably expecting the stuff that comes in a can that you bang on the counter to open, then form and bake. Nope! They are getting homemade light yeast rolls formed into crescents. Wish I could be a fly on the wall and hear what the recipients think of the chutney and rolls!
All this talk about food is making me hungry, so I'll go start lunch. Hope you all are doing well, and looking forward to the holidays!

That's very sweet @marlingardener . Your kindness and excitement is contagious. I'm sure the recipients were thrilled!

I settling inside with a cup of tea and a sit for a few minutes before doing some painting in the laundry room. Hubby had an appointment in the closest city and I was supposed to go with him, but some tummy troubles had me not up to the six hour drive. He went solo and did a "there and back" trip. He should be home within the hour.

I took advantage of the few hours of sunshine through the low cloud to finish removing some netting and fencing around the squash gardens. I was going to leave them up, but I suspect a buck got his antlers into them and ripped a hole. That is a worry so they needed to come down. Then it was time for an oil change and new spark plug on my snowblower. It runs much better now. I put an extended drain plug in it last year and it made the job much easier. We are expecting snow for the next five days, so it was time for the oil change. The plough went onto the one tonne diesel truck yesterday.

The day we were supposed to hook up our hot water tank, the water level sensor malfunctioned on the washing machine and it overflowed. The water alarm on the floor came to the rescue once again and what could have been a disaster was a 4 inches of water on the floor clean up. The new floor drain worked well, thankfully.

So tomorrow we are adding a new washer and dryer to the list of new appliances. The dryer was very old and worn out. We are going to town for an appointment and groceries, and a local appliance store is holding a set for us. I hope this is the end of things leaking and breaking. So for now we are still camping....."glamping" hahaha as I have the comfort of our home. I won't miss boiling pots of water. Hopefully things are hooked up some time this weekend.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 0°C and mostly cloudy.
Up bright and early today, and I've had a coffee and I'm about to take the dog out to do his business.
So much going through my head today. Its my eldest daughters birthday, but its also one year since my husband passed. I feel like its going to be a rough day.
Thankfully we will be at the rink for several hours, and that will be a good distraction. Distractions are good.
Have a great day all :)
