Yes, there was that one too. Where it got flooded with porn and I got the blame for it :suspicious: Even though I'd already resigned.

That might have been the one, where I banned a mod who had got too big for his boots and broke the rules himself by banning a member without a consensus.

I got the blame for everything else on there too :suspicious:

Yep and he, that Mod, sent me a private message telling me to "cease and resist" or he was going to ban me. All because I posted facts that didn't agree with his opinion !!

I sent the new site owner an email as what they were saying about me was libellous. People know who I am in real life because of my cactus business so even though I was only using a screen name they'd know it was me.

They deleted quite a few posts :whistling:

That "new mod" was talking to spammers last time I looked

@Zigs I get exactly what your experience was for the horrible blame you received by moderating a garden site. I know exactly who and what you mean and that member is still floating around.
You are respected here and admired for all your contributions we experience every day from your daily posts. Keep them coming.

Annie I do know what site your referring to and you didn’t deserve that type of treatment . Some gardeners are quite supportive and share positive responses toward each other while others are creepy and naughty.

On this site we have found like minded gardeners that share and respect each other. As a group we manage to keep it simple showing our ‘Passion’ for gardening and recognizing each individual members joy of sharing each pic and topic every day. That is the bloomin bottom line.

A particular garden site in my experience is guilty of having members that literally drive new members off the site by expounding with terror like responses. For example ..”If you do this and continue you are guilty of xyz.” Then the same know it alls jump on board and double down and essentially rewrite the original question asked by the new member to fit the know it all belief system and answers. Some are personally offensive and threatening in there responses. Not to mention those fake rewards that are sent by the know it alls to each other on the site for everyone to see…putting the new member totally in a position where they feel as though they must defend themselves against terror like remarks made to them by the know it alls. Where most new members just leave the site which allows the terrorist to remain and bolster their hierarchy perception of how powerful they are.

Actually after a few know it all posts the new members question or statement becomes a competition with the know it all members to see who is the most experienced and knowledgeable of the terrorist group. Then … 50 posts later by the same know it all members the original subject is lost by the know it all responses as most of the answers drive the new member out by forcing a belief system of their own that in the end had nothing to do with the initial question asked. They gang up on new members by pushing an invisible agenda. I’ve seen it happen over and over.
In the end these know it all members are generally the only members left on the entire garden site.

Sorry so long but… well … you know how it goes when other members are respected and not chastised for whatever they share but given positive reinforcement posts on a garden site is always the first quality I look for on any site.

    Well done!

I like tiling. I tiled the whole of the bathroom and toilet in the seventies, but it's been re-tiled since.
After we had new kitchen units fitted, about seventeen years ago, I "half tiled" the kitchen. We found a "metallic" looking tile. I used black grout, which was a pain. Fortunately, it doesn't come off when you clean them.

It's stood up well, these are recent photos.

I got into the garden today.
I pruned the wisteria between the shed and the tea-house and those on the two pergolas. I've just the one on the side of the house to do, maybe tomorrow.

I also cleaned out the moss in the gutter below the flat roofed extension to the lounge.

I've noticed that a couple of the cross beams on the garage pergola could do with changing, as they are beginning to rot in a couple of places. But that can wait until February or early March.

I pruned off the dead wood on the two acer palmatums.
There's always quite a bit each year, but they are always replaced with new growth coming from the top. I'll need to spread the branches out a bit on the big one, with wire, to fill a couple of gaps. They will have then "set" before the new foliage appears.

Kitchen tile looks very nice as neat as a pin and beautiful styling. As usual your home is as lovely as your garden.
You keep everything in tip top condition. :smt023

I was watching a tv series ‘Columbo’, and a juke box showed up in a scene. Took a screen shot it reminded me of your juke box collection. This show was taped back in the 70’s. Thru your demonstration posts I know exactly how the system picks the correct record to send to the turn table for playing the chosen song.

Today I pruned six rose bushes. I already pruned about ten, and three more remain.

That's the early winter pruning. They will be pruned back some more in late winter.

I also pruned the first apple tree.

I planned to cull five non productive fruit trees but I was too tired.

    Thanks for the kind words.
Like other enthusiasts. I keep photos or screen shots of jukeboxes we see in films on TV. Some really surprise us. This is one from the 1947 "film noir," Out Of The Past , starring Robert Mitchum. It's a scene in a small diner in an out of the way town, with just one main street. It's a brand new Wurlitzer 1015. These cost as much as a small car back then. So I think it's an early example of "product placement."

This is from my favourite western, "Lone Star" made in 1996, featuring Chris Cooper and the late Elizabeth Pina. It's been on TV a few times but not for a few years. So I looked on eBay for a long time for a copy of the DVD, with no success.
Then suddenly someone had a dozen of them and I managed to get one. They all went in a day!

It's a Rock-Ola 1454 from 1956. The film is set at least two decades later, in a town near the Mexican border.
The record is "Since I Met You Baby" sung in Spanish.

I'm hoping to prune the last wisteria today, then have a good clear up in both gardens.
