    Last Thursday Berry had a broken tooth removed and had 2 stitches put in. When he's left alone have to put one of those lampshade collars on him because when left he rolls about and rubs his face on the carpet. Last Sunday he was left for a few minutes alone and he rubbed his face on the carpet, we forgot to put the lampshade collar on and he loosened the stitchs. So back to the vets this afternoon, saw a nurse and she looked at it and said it will be alright, just make sure that we put the lampshade on him. Have to go back next Monday to get it checked.
    Got back to the car and Berry wouldn't get in, he wanted to go exploring, it was very difficult trying to lift a 36kg dog in a car.

    @Anniekay your rug looks amazing.

    Oreti nice story.
    In the US the RMS Queen Mary, Wwas purchased by the city of Long Beach and is permanently docked in Long Beach California. I have taken the tour and it is fabulous. It now serves as a unique hotel, museum, and event venue, a fixture in the harbor since its retirement from service in 1967, offering tours, dining, and overnight stays in vintage Art Deco style.

    This filled a few minutes.

    The new carbon monoxide detector arrived this afternoon.
    I've positioned it above the door which hides the combi boiler.

    When we had the kitchen units fitted, I filled in between the tops and the ceiling with plasterboard fillets on wooden frames, then wallpapered them. This avoids having to clean the tops of any wall cupboards.

    It took just two small screws into the plasterboard to hang the detector on.

    I have acquired antique china , silver and glassware which over many years became a large part of my China cabinet display. All the China was made in England, infused with gold trim and exquisite silver flatware with jewel inserts in special pieces. Also white gold trim on huge set of Cristal glasses in every size imaginable.and silver trim on others. Silver trim or designs on glassware were commonly referring to as silver fused or electroplated onto the glass surface, creating a shiny, often tarnish-prone finish that can look like a platinum. I wrapped them all in plastic wrap to seal out air so they don’t tarnish.

    I came to the realization that these cherished gems will not be appreciated if handed down to my children. So I have carefully packed each collection away with an itemized statements and listing of their value today.

    Many jewelry silver/gold/diamond/turquoise pieces were gifted earlier this year to my grandsons who repurposed them into engagement rings thru talented hand crafted jewelers . Both grandsons recycled the diamonds , gold, platinum jewelry into engagement and wedding rings . Both repurposed rings were given as Xmas engagement rings to their girlfriends all from jewelry I had collected from family members over time. Even bracelets and turquoise jewelry with squash blossom designs are still highly valued today. I was lucky to have had a family member who traded with the American Indian reservations in the New Mexico area to receive some really treasured pieces made of turquoise and silver. I have a nice collection of jewelry set aside with ID on each piece and today’s value. Some also became gifts to family members who chose the pieces they can use.

    Still sorting out and it’s a lot to sort thru but slowly making progress going thru 5 generations of keepsakes from our family locked in a huge cedar chest, going back to when my great great grandparents came to New York from Northern Ireland bringing iris rhizomes with them to this country to start a iris farm. Where they ended up was in the state of Colorado selling many new types of iris hybrids which is now part of a highway in Colorado.

    Today or tomorrow I'll cut up the rest of the turkey and portion it up to go into the freezer for Sunday dinners, i alternate with roast beef.

    Thank you Logan. Now what to do with all the other treasured items left by relatives . It’s gonna be up to the next generation. I suppose they will appreciate the many gifts of generations past.

    Yesterday I narrowly avoided becoming a victim of a con artist. So that's what I did, when not attending the garden... :cool:

    I get a few scam e-mails now and again, pretending they are from reputable companies.
    The senders must be nearly as stupid as the people who open them.
    Just one look at the e-mail address will tell you it's a scam. For me, they go straight to "block sender" and moved to my "scam." file.
