Thank you Sjoerd, this morning at 5.30am the roads were like ice and difficult with River who's very alert, i had hubby with me and we managed to cross at a different place further down. We didn't get any rain today so tomorrow morning should be better.

Just watched a lad on Youtube giving a warning for a terrible blizzard on Friday

Coming in from the west, possible foot of snow in places and 100 mph winds on the South Coast

I'm bringing up a load of wood to keep nearby for the woodburner.

Couple of problems I can see there if it hits, the power could well go off, followed by the gas. The UK has got sod all gas storage now, last winter we were 5 days from it running out.

Stay safe Zigs. It’s no fun when you loose power but with iPhone you can stay connected online. Already have had to do that twice this year from power outages. For heat I like you have wood nearby for the wood burning stove and can cook on it too. I have a back up generator that I pooped out moving a few seasons ago . It’s to heavy to move it outside for the exhaust out of the house. If the power is out longer then I will move the frig food in the freezer and frige in the garage and keep sandwich foods canned , foods and soups for emergencies. Don’t forget meds and pet foods. And a few other fav items… it’s like camping out in your living room… seems like it’s would be easier to have a Trailor out back for emergencies with propane stove tv loaded with all the works to keep warm and safe.

    But… I digress a little from the origional plan…..:smt044

Had a dusting of snow this morning but now it's gone. This was at 6am this morning. It wasn't slippy so was ok with the walks.

Aww. ta Pac :) Today we worked out that we can put polystyrene fish boxes with the bottoms cut out over 47kg Propane bottles to insulate them. Will need 7 of them to do the job. Propane is meant to work in low temperatures but I've found it doesn't when it freezes
