Good Saturday morning all. Currently -8°C and light snow is falling.
I was busy yesterday, and I have to admit I'm a little stiff and sore today. The sun was shining and I felt the need to play outside, so I played on the snowmobile for a bit before I loaded it onto the trailer and took it to the grandkids. They are going to have fun with it around their property - they have 54 acres to play on.
Today, I want to go and get my picture taken as I want to apply for a passport - another thing on my list of things I wanted to do last year but didn't get to. I'm all about unfinished business from 2025 this week! After that I'll continue with the de-cluttering around the house.
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -4°C and overcast.
I've been busy working on my 'unfinished from 2025' list. Its just a list of some things that I wanted to do or get done in 2025 and just didn't get to finish. Yesterday I battled a snow storm to drive down and apply for a passport. On Sunday I finally cleaned the basement. Today I'm going to finish off the year end bookwork for the Skating Club, and tomorrow I'd like to drop off all the bags and boxes of donations that we have collected. Decluttering is high on the list.
    But first, coffee!
Have a great day all :)

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 1°C and clear. The winds blew strong all night, and now all is still. We also had rain and 10 degrees yesterday so a lot of snow has melted. Its nice to have a bit of a thaw as the snow was starting to pile high.
Its been a busy week, and today will be no exception. Heading to the rink shortly until noon, and then headed to meet with someone from Marketplace. I've been starting to sell items I don't want/need and making a bit of extra money. And its been helping to clear the clutter!
Maybe! But I can't plan to go anywhere until I have a passport! ;)
Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -2°C and overcast. We got a thin layer of snow overnight, and weatherman says we are getting more today.
I'm continuing the decluttering around the house/yard today. A few items are being picked up from online selling, and I'm still cleaning the garage.
If it gets nice out later I might go for a ride on my atv. Trying to keep Sunday a funday!
Have a great day all :)

    Netty— have a good Sunday-funday.
How exciting that you may be thinking of travelling. A passport is essential.
The process can be difficult sometimes, just don’t give up…head dawn and push on through. Once you have it you’ll be good for a number of years.

@Sjoerd will do my best love Baker Creek since they carry varieties not very common. I am most intrigued by the Sart Roloise tomato hopefully it grows and produces to see if it matches its description.
"Bursting with sweet, fruity, and complex flavor with just the right acidity, owing its tropical flavor profile to its parentage. It is a cross of the White Wonder tomato, which lends pineapple sweet notes, and the Baby Blue tomato, which explains the deep indigo blue brushstrokes on the shoulders!"

Good Monday morning all. Currently -3°C and overcast.
Another busy day ahead for me, and then another busy evening at the rink.
I've been thinking about this years gardens too, and would love to have the time to sit down and look at seeds. I love Baker Creek, but with the new tariffs its just too expensive for me to order from there anymore. I'm looking for a good Canadian supplier of heirloom seeds, especially tomatoes. I have a few websites I want to check out.
Have a great day all :)

Today promises nice weather. I fact, if predictions are accurate, the coldest days all winter will have lows of 27 F (-2.8 C). U unusually mild, and I will take it.

I might take a break from garden work today. Last week I bought items for the food bank, want to deliver them today. Then a grocery trip for me. I liked the tamales I made, want to create some alternative fillings. I'm thinking mushroom, might be something else.

I want to get quilting started again so will clear off the uncompleted long term project and get back to what I started in Nov. There are four projects that I started and just let go, last fall & winter.

Happy Monday. Life is slowing a little bit, but every day has a task. Today was taking apart and cleaning the four fans the move air from the woodstove in the mud room to the rest of the house. And then braving spiders to go into the crawl space and make sure the squirrel I saw running around outside didn't find a path inside. All was well, and not too many spiders this time. I've been diligent spraying the crawl space every couple of weeks and it seems to be helping.

The power was out for 8 hours last night ( the ninth time since October). I'm grateful for the generator, but when you are used to sleeping with no sounds at all....it makes for a restless night. We finally had our propane delivery two days ago so now we are set for the rest of winter.

Tomorrow is a very quick town day for groceries and an appointment. There is a new Mc fast food chain in town, so Hubby is excited ( it's bringing out the teenager in him -:chuckle: ) It's been six years since he had a cheeseburger, and another five years before that. So two cheeseburgers in 11 years, he's allowed to be excited. :) They are not my cup of tea, but I'm happy for him. We will venture over for him to have a junk food fix that he will eat in the truck while I have my appointment.

We've had freezing rain the last two days, so fingers crossed for some plough trucks and sand for the trip in. We're bringing some clay kitty litter, some traction grates and a shovel just encase. If not for us, for someone else. We will be glad to get home.

I'm sorry I missed this recipe if you posted it Daniel. Do you mind sharing your tamales?
