I only use it for heating foods up mainly and only use the one minute timer, have got other things on it but don't use them.

Cleaning out one section of the barn. Looking for all the old x-mas lights to toss out to recycle.

This only took about half an hour, the other jobs like laundry and running the vacuum cleaner around will take a bit longer.
The soap dispenser I ordered on eBay arrived this morning. I had an old one for about 40 years, but the refills were now made of "unobtainium" as they say.
With this you use your own soap, my wife buys a lot of that.
Just three screws to mount it.

You get a little plastic key to open it and the reservoir comes out for re-filling and it doesn't drip.
There's a little window so you can tell when it needs more soap.

Just £7.25 post free. I thought quite good value.

I had a guy stop by today and he has a couple of large loads of milling from when they repaved the roads and grind up the top layer so that the next layer will stick better. He measured my driveway which is 10' wide by 95 ft. long and gave me a price that I couldn't refuse. They remove the grass, spray the ground with something that keeps the weeds from growing, then put down 3" of millings, add tar and then roll it to compact it. I've wanted to get a drive put in since I moved here but $ 4,000. was a lot. I'm getting it at half price !! :sete_056:

Yikes $4000 is well worth it and congrats … . Less dust and noise. No weeds … and looks so much better. I have something similar… so much easier to maintain.

We've a green concrete drive which was laid by the previous owner of our house, probably in the late sixties.
Apparently, it was a very bright green, so much green dye had been added to the mix, a neighbour told us, that every time it rained heavily, there was a river of green water running along the gutter into a drain in the road, for many weeks.

It's faded now. I've replaced one or two panels in the 4ft part of the party fence, the rest is over fifty years old. "They don't make Wanylap like the used to."

There's also a small path around the front bay window.

There are a few cracks in it now and two patches, one for a new bit of soil pipe from the toilet and this one, when we had a new mains supply fitted.

Over the years we've had lots of offers to have it block paved or Tarmacked, but we've always refused, as it isn't necessary.
As my old dad used to about stuff. "It'll see us out."

Welp, I got my loan with 5.9%interest. If I pay it off in a year my interest rate drops to 3.5% which I intend to do.

I called the business up and told them it was all set; I had the cash and we're good to go. He said his hydraulics on the truck screwed up so now he will be coming as soon as he can get that fixed. Funny, you rush to get the money for the job and then the equipment crashes. It's ok anyway because it's drippy rain and has been raining lightly, off and on, since yesterday. I'd rather they do it when the weather is good.

@Anniekay you haven't given them the money up front?

Our driveway was probably last done when the houses were built a long time ago,it needs doing but it's way down on the list to do.

We here just pray really hard and wait for a meteorite strike to happen in our driveways. As that's the only way to compact the ground cheaply. Because otherwise nobody from the town management will ever come to do anything for us...

The New battery and fuel line came today for the compact tractor.
Cleaned the battery cables and put the new battery in and replace the short fuel line mice chewed thru.

@Pacnorwest that looks like rat, not mice. I had rats get up under the hood of my 69' Chevy Malibu Classic. I JUST put in new wires, bright orange ones, and the chew marks were large like on your wires. Mice chews are itty bitty. The landlord parked his fricken boat next to my car after retrieving it from being docked on the water and that's where the rat came from.

Did you find any droppings? You can tell rat from mouse since they're 2-3 times as large. You probably have field rats.
