When they cut down trees in my town, a couple times I asked the guys if they could cut me a 4" slice and a piece of sturdy limb. I made a couple tables for outside. That fruit tree would make a beautiful table top. Send me a piece in the mail please:)

Thanks Logan. Usually torna"foes" don't hit this little city because we arr in a little dip in the terrain that sets the city a bit lower than the surrounding area. They usually go south or north of us, thank gawd !!

Raked up a load of acorns that had been disturb from under the east side boundary hedging. and then were distributed everywhere by the pigeons.:smt086

Took all the seed trays out to the greenhouse as it was warm enough today and they were able to get a good dose of natural bright daylight.✓

Sifted another load of compost, enough for 10 more pots.

I had to worked around the guy who came to clean all the house fasias and dodge all the splash backs :D

Took all the overwintering Fuchsias out from under the greenhouse staging for some fresh air, tidy up and watering.
Found yet another mouldy, mushy Dahlia tuber that had got forgotten in the greenhouse......this is the reason why I don't normally dig them up but some required it this winter...sadly most of then met with an untimely end anyway.:whistling:

Well yes @Sjoerd... it was dry!!!
It wasn't as sunny as we were originally forecast, only had bright sunshine for about 2 hours instead of the originally predicted 8hrs. The rest of the day was cloudy but as I said at least it was dry which makes a nice and welcomed change.:D:like:
Back to rain tomorrow accompanied with it's attached weather warning.. On the brighter side although still damp we are suppose to hit temps of 15C at the weekend.......tomorrow our high is only going to reach around 6C !!! . Mad weather.

I got out into the garden @11:30 am and finally quit at 5:45 pm. I got my Pomegranate, 3 Pawpaw trees and two roses weeded, pruned and fertilized. Trimmed the honeysuckle and a clematis. Dug out two wisterias from the orange ditch lily bed and weeded that and the abelia bed. Trimmed my purple Crape Myrtle and fertilized everything that got weeded.

The last thing I did was to weed, fertilize and prune my Tea Olive tree in the back yard and put a plastic ring around the bottom to keep the grass out. I just couldn't stop because I had to fill my second wheelbarrel with weeds so I could dump it.

Boy am I tired, and I'm nowhere near done.

Did a survey. Checked the traps. That icy wind was a challenge.

There traps are in use here too. Constantly catching ground squirrels. These ground squirrels that burrow under ground.are no joke, they are the size of small cats. This trap catches 2 or more at once. Last one caught 2-1-26.

What type of traps are you using? What lil buggers are you trapping?
Stay safe out in icy weather.

I went to our local hardware/farm supply store and got fertilizer for my shrubs. Then I started weeding another weedy bed and had to stop. I didn't sleep well last night and I guess from the long hours I put in yesterday, I am just worn out !!
    So, I'm resting now.

I ate a big lunder, (that's a meal between lunch and supper.) That invigorated me so I weeded, fertilized and mulched my loropetalums (2) and 4 Hollies, two needed new rings to keep the grass out, and an Azalea. Then two small Pyracanthas got weeded fertilized and mulched.. These are all the shrubs on the north property line. Got a full wheelbarrow of weeds off of those. Then it got dark so I quit

The seven clematis I ordered from Parkers, they were quite well packed, with a lot of soft brown paper on top of them to stop them moving about. But there was quite a bit of loose soil in the box, so they had been thrown about a bit by the carrier.

But two of them showed no sign of life. So I took photos of them. I'll let Parker's know, “just in case.” I know it's a bit early and I'd rather they'd delivered them later. I won't put them out yet.

I've put them on the window shelf in the shed for now. I had a spare greenhouse 60w heater like the ones I use in my jukeboxes in the winter. So I decided to attach it to the shelf, set it on minimum heat, but only during the night. It's plugged into a timer. It gets quite warm in there during the day.

Problem was that the cable on the heaters are only 1mtr long and there was no handy socket on that side of the shed. I didn't want to have an extension lead draped across the shed.

So I had to connect a new socket to the shed and tea/house supply. I don't like exposed cables, so I put it in conduit.

It looks a bit busy. The top conduit protects the supply from the consumer unit to the sockets on the other side of the shed and the supply to the tea-house. The bottom one protects the cable to the security light on the front of the shed.

I put a hedgehog feeder out, with pellets and water. I've no idea when or if we will get any visitors.

I've put a trail camera back where it usually goes, so if any come into the garden, it'll pick them up.

There's some early blossom starting to come out on the quince on the side fence.

This lilac in its tub has some nice buds. Once it has something worth looking at, it can go down and stay on the main patio.
