When not attending to garden tasks what other things have filled your day?

Had a nice day out with my hubs and ended the day with a visit to see my brother in his care home.
It was good to find him in a fairly responsive mood. He was cheering on a skier as he laid in his bed watching the Winter Olympics. He use to be very sporty back in days long gone by, one sport was skiing. Not that he could recall such memories sadly.
The only bit that stabbed at my heart was when I kissed him goodbye and he smiled and look hard into my face and said ' who are you, do I know you'?
I wanted to cry but just stroked his face telling that I was **......... his sister but as my hair is now long he might not recognise me ..so I piled it up on top of my head he but he shook his head and said nooooooo!
Deep in his eyes though I 'thought ' I could see the mischievous glint that use to indicate he was having a joke with us.......hmmm was it there or was I clasping at straws for memories of bygone days.
It was a lovely visit though.....which is now a very rare description I can use. Love him sooo very much and as we all know the more you love someone the more pain you feel. :smt049

Sorry for the delay in posting, but here's the finished product. It was cheaper than an asphalt drive. We'll see how long it lasts, but the less grass I have to cut, the better I like it. :D

Thanks guys !! I have weed control figured into it @Zigs . They told me that they can spray a "hardener on it but that will come later.
My Dog Rags doesn't think much of it. She wanted to poop on it as soon as it was installed !! :smt044

Pleasure Oreti :) Tetters just said, your Brother might struggle to remember you but you still know who he is. That's important :)

This can indeed be more painful then anyone realizes... Of course, my relatives, (aside from parents and siblings), are so evil that if I could forget them all - It would genuinely be a true blessing I swear! This is not a joke, as I ostracized them out of my life forever when I was only 12 years old...

Anyway, I haven't mentioned much about something that I'm very passionate about. As this is a gardening forum, so the opportunity never came up. But I am investing in something called Transhumanism [h+] - I don't expect everyone to understand this. So briefly, I'll just say that this is the quest for infinite life, with a never ending youth, all through technology. Utilizing whatever means available st our disposal. Like genetic engineering, bio-hacking, synthetic bionics, as well as merger with artificial intelligence to create augmented intelligence, (this way we get immortality while artificial intelligence gets a soul).

I say again, that this will not make much sense to everyone. So I expect msny will joy grasp this, (which is why I'm not going into details)... But that I will say is NEVER LOSE HOPE! Because help is on the way, literally, and soon, not far away.

Our world is actually going to change sooner than we think. And in such ways that nobody is right now is able to accurately imagine in how many ways, (even I myself can't) - I have actually dedicated all my know-how and scientific knowledge to this quest, of Transhumanism [h+]. Unfortunately I am not a biologist, but I still trying to contribute with whatever my skills have to offer...

Anyway you all will be amazed to learn of this, but already many hundreds of millions of Dollars have been pumped into this. And exactly who is doing this? All the Dot-Com billionaires, (as they don't want to die one day, not after accumulating such wealth, plus they want their youth back too). In the 80s, all Hollywood actors could do was plastic surgery. But now bio-hacking is a real thing. as now Dot-Com billionaires are actually investing heavily into research institutions. They are also assigning powerful supercomputers (empowered with AI) to deciphering the human DNA! So once this is done, and it's wouldn't take long now, (not after the arrival of AI) - So this is where humanity will now take full control of it's own evolution. And it's not just AI and supercomputers, but we are also now seeing the arrival of quantum computers too.

This research is carried out beyond the reach of government control, exactly where even I myself don't know, but I assume on offshore territories, (island nations which offer immunity from tax collection as well as an escape from arrestable offenses)...

I've already said too much here, so I hope this wouldn't attract the wrong kind of attention, (I also don't want to get booted out of the Transhumanist community)... But our world is drastically going to change very soon. One theoretical model estimates that we will start seeing the benefits of Transhumanism [h+] by the year 2028, (earliest) to 3032, or 2036 maximum.

There is actually more research being done today, than at any other point in human history. And with more powerful tools and equipment then we ever had before - So something good is bound to happening, and soon.

All this research mentioned above, just few years ago would have been considered science fiction. Yet today it's real solid groundbreaking research. So just imagine the near future.

Wow....that is all truly mind blowing stuff. It's amazing how far our understaning, and research capabilities have advanced.

Is there a fear we can go too far though:headscratch::shrug:.

We will go too far with AI and no going back.

It's very good for the research in Alzheimer's but it all depends on if the NHS can afford it.

Eh, I'd rather move on to the next reincarnation. Hopefully better parents and a better family with more opportunities than this time around provided.
