Three bees on the Alliums : A Hoornaarzweefvlieg: These monsters look like a type of hornet that we have here. I wonder if its likeness actually deters its enemies. It is actually a harmless hover fly.

Hornet fly !! I see those a lot in my garden especially on fruit. I have to check each fig I pick for them so as not to accidentally touch one. Bumble bees also and they seem to like to land on my hand but both are harmless, thank be !!
