My gotta have plant for 2007. Can't wait to give it a try: http://www.parkseed.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... erCode=T1H
Sharon, I live in a cave. I have a living room 35' long and 25' wide, covered with board and batten knotty pine. The only window is at the end of the kitchen looking out onto a screened patio. I mean totally screened room, roof, etc. This is an acadian house, so the soffit is over 5', but the patio is roofed out 8' before the screened roof starts. No light whatsoever gets inside. Spaths won't live in here, Sanseveria will not live in here. I have never tried them, but suspect plastic plants would droop. I am thinking of installing halide lights and hiring out the LR to basketball teams. All I need is two hoops. The ceiling is cathedral and goes up over 20'. Or I could rent it out to the Catholics for bingo. Anyone with an idea how I could lighten up this 25 yo knotty pine?
Zuzu, does yours have a finish on it? Mine does. I've thought about whitewash, but have been afraid to try it.
Jan I'm not being a smarta** but once I knew someone with the same problem. They took the board off reversed them and then you can do whatever paint stain etc. lots of work though
When are you coming to help? That is a great idea. It does sound like a 'move out' job tho. And I'm one lazy broad. I also thought of removing the battens and putting quarter inch sheetrock up, but that's another 'move out' job and more than I can handle.
I don't know about a move out job but for sure a what was I thinking job. The last time I went to New Orleans to help a friend remodled was definetly memorable. It included peyote buttons, a bathroom, an Old Indian, a campfire in the living room of a teepee and some pink fog. In the late 60' as you might have guessed.
