Dregs And Giants

    The dregs: it’s the last of the parsnips…the dregs…the small, little lazy growers.

    We still got two meals out of them to freeze-in. A few years ago I might have fed them to the deer in the park here, but I have changed my ways…I put up everything now. Waste not, want not they say.

    Then, the last of the leeks.

    These lovelies look good in the trug but they did not lift easily. Some of them were giants.

    You may recall that I fit sleeves over some of the plants. Here you can see the difference between the leeks that were covered and those that were not.

    Finally, a little veggie box we took with us to some friends we visited a couple of days ago.

    All your harvest looks great !! If I ever try growing Leeks I will be sure to cover them @Sjoerd. I wouldn't call those parsnips "dregs". If I grew those I would be very happy. So far it's parsnips 1 and me 0 !! :smt044 I haven't managed to germinate a single one !! :smt082
