Sijtje the cow predicts today’s soccer game winner. It’s the 8th final of the World Championship. I’ll be glued to the telly for this one.
To see the outcome, klik on the link below and once on the page, scroll down to the video and klik on the little triangle in the middle of the foto.

Zigs was especially watching for this result Sjoerd and he exclaimed ''cor Sjoerd's cow WAS right :smt103 '' I wonder if she could predict the numbers for the lottery too?

Chortle Tetters. If so, that boer could become rich.
This farmer and his cow have have achieved a mild amount of “fame” for predicting things. I knew about it but am far too nuchter to give it serious credence. I cannot think of what nuchter is in english, something like sober, serious or no nonsense I think.

The word I use Sjoerd is sceptical as it means doubting that something is really true and I wouldn't give the cows 'predictions' serious credence either.

Google translates sober as nuchter .

Ta Tetters, I should have taken the time to look it up myself.
Sometimes I just am too lazy to take the time to look up stumbling blocks. But yeah, “sober” sounds right to me too.

Eileen, skeptical is only part of the meaning, but sober is better I think. Not sober in the alcohol sense, but in the no frills ‘n thrills sense. It is a bit difficult to get it precisely.

What's wrong with frills and thrills then? I reckon it's best to lighten up a bit and trust fate :D
