A mid-afternoon nibble urge caused my Bride to whip out the old licorice box. I popped the top off and saw this roly-poly making a break for the edge.

I thought to myself, if that beast wants to take a trip, I can help with that.

    Adios.

    Ough, I love licorice !!
How the heck did he get in there ? Were you eating those, the last time, while on the allotment ?

When I first bought this house there were huge fire ant mounds along the foundation. I had the exterminator right away. Then my kitchen was remodelled, and with all that banging and ripping old cabinets from the walls, the fire ants found some cracks and had worked their way up into the pantry. They were feasting on Everything they could possibly get into.

The exterminator had to crawl under the house, lift the vapor barrier and he pumped 500 gallons of spray under there to finally get rid of them. Haven't had an unwelcome guest since !! :D

Annie— chuckle. That isn’t a real role-poly, it is a piece of licorice. The licorice here comes in many, many different shapes.
My Bride had just shaken the container and one just happened to stick to the side.
Y’know though, that licorice really does look like a roll-poly doesn’t it…the way it was sitting there. Gotcha.

Terrible about that fire ant infestation. Holy-moly. :(

    Tee hee :D

Our friends bring us liquorice over from Holland when they visit. You have a lovely selection over there compared to here :)
