The other evening I watched an old comedy drama film on the "Talking Pictures" channel

"The Devil & Miss Jones." Starring Jean Arthur and Charles Coburn.

It's about the staff in a departmental store, to cut a long story short, the owner works incognito in a store with staff problems. The problems eventually get sorted out and the owner marries one of the employees, the film ends with dozens of the staff dancing at a party on an ocean liner.

The last line in the film is one of the female characters saying, "I can't believe we're all going on holiday to Honolulu!"

The film was made in 1941, the significance of this year then dawned on me.
