The first gardening catalog of the season arrived today! My Pinetree Seeds for 2012 came in the mail. Tonight a glass of wine, a fistful of sticky flags, and my garden catalog--bliss!

Lucky You!! All I have been getting are the catalogs wanting me to spend a fortune on useless but cute items for holiday gifts.

All I've received is a catalogue for Pavers shoes!! How I would enjoy having a few gardening ones to while away these long, dark nights.

Oh Boy...I hope I get one. I ordered seeds from them this fall for sprouting and microgreens. I ordered online so I hope they think of me when they create their mailing list.

I suppose there is something to be said about the tactile feel of a paper catalog vs. the electronic page and the click of a mouse. It might be nice if the computer catalog people could simulate the tantalizing feeling of a quick flip through the pages. I wonder if they could recreate the flash of color as some flower catches your eye and your fingers attempt to locate the elusive page. I fear that someday that joy of a real catalog will be a distant memory and the seasonal missive will fade away. Already we can do all our ordering online but it just doesn't seem right to curl up with a laptop and a warm cup of cider to dream of spring flowers. So I will continue to relish, while I can, the catalogs of fall and flowers yet to be while a crackling fire warms the room. Now where is that red flower.......

Kathy, if you want a paper catalog from any seed supplier, just request it on-line. Pinetree will send you one of their colorful, informative, and fascinating catlogs on request.
I'd loan you mine, but it has drool marks all over it.

I got a Pinetree Seeds catalog last week and today catalogs from Totally Tomatoes and Vermont Bean Seed Company arrived.

Now I can join the 'glass of wine, fistful of sticky flags and garden catalog bliss' club with you Jane.
