There’s a weird underground beast that came up for air:

    More leeks and beans:

Lonesome Larry is still hanging about.

Two types of Black-eyed Susans coming into their own:

The Cosmea continues to deliver. Deadheading is awkward, and a difficult choice because the Putters come and eat the seeds if I leave them. They are such a pretty bird. It is the one that Eileen uses in her avatar.

It is busy times here at the moment, but one mustn’t forget to calm down and look. The beauty is so fleeting.

Very nice, I love the, "creature" that came up to visit, in the fresh air. Lonesome Larry, seems like a cool guy. I have squirrels that play around my front tree. When I have the front door open, the cats just sit and watch. I had a dog once and we'd go walk in the park, every morning. The squirrels would tease him and he was on a leash so he could do nothing. One day I was just fed up with those silly squirrels...always teasing. So, I dropped the leash. And he was off! The squirrel ran up a tree then turned at a "y" in the tree and looked back as if to say, "can't catch me". I swear I saw that dog taking on speed and he totally jumped up into that " y"! I'm 5' 2" maybe 5' 3" with shoes and it was over my head, so I'm sure that squirrel left a trail of something when it realized the dog was not stopping, as he turned and practically flew up the tree! I wonder how many dogs that squirrel teased after that?

That was a funny story, Willow. Squirrels are like that, aren’t they. Good thing your dog gave him a little wake-up call that day. They have to learn that being mean has consequences.
    Thanks for the anecdote.

Yes, I miss him still. It took months for me to be able to sleep in quiet. I missed his snoring on the floor next to my bed. He got hip dysplasia when he was older. It took seven or eight years before I got another dog. A chocolate lab named Sabaka. (Russian for dog)
