    8) There are many reasons I like Gardenstew .
    1 . The informality ( irreverance ) of the members .
2 . Every time I log on I learn something new , today its Clivia , Never heard of them before (beautiful plant ) same goes for the Royal Poinciana .
3 . I like the diversity of people here and the trouble they take to help each other , even if its only to make me smile ;)
    4. Its only a few months since I joined but my computing skills have increased a hundredfold. I practice my cutting and pasting here ( not bad for someone who only got this computer 4 months ago)
    5. I learned how to post photos here (thanks Frank and Eileen  )
    6. I little realised that when I started Weather Report on a cold and wet miserable day in December that it would get so many posts :smt038 .7500 views and 350 replies. I really enjoy seeing what the weather is like in your area . We all live on an amazing planet , great diversity .Everyone here seems to care about the planet , in a quiet sort of way :D .
7 i'm sure I can think of other reasons but Mrs.Bugs is calling me for my dinner ( she who must be obeyed ) Gotta go 8) Bugs

Thanks for all the kinds words Bugs and Co 8) What a great post to topic to read on a dull rainy Wednesday!

I am so happy to have started something that people really warm to. In fact more and more everyday it feels like the site is evolving into something I never could have envisioned. I planted the seed of GardenStew but now it is definitely growing on its own. Now I feel like the groundsman  :D How do you feel Eileen?

Oh and by the way I never thanked you for starting the Weather Report topic Bugs. Do you realize that that topic will be running for years to come and people will look to see who originally started it. They will say "who is this Bugs guy!"

If you're the groundsman Frank then I'm the one sitting on the bench just watching our beautiful garden grow and flourish and having a laugh and a natter with everybody who calls in. :D
Every now and then I pull out the odd weed but it never affects the garden as a whole. It's thriving and more and more shoots are coming up day after day. 8) :smt045

Wow great metaphor continuation there Eileen! :smt023 Every now and then the odd weed needs to be nuked off the face of the 'garden'. I enjoy that very much!

*Did Eileen mention how see asks me to bring her a non-alcoholic beverage while she lounges out on the bench. Quite the slave driver I can tell you :D*

I too am really enjoying being in this group. The internet may get blamed for a lot of bad things, but it never gets credit for bring people from all over the world together, even if it is only on a computer screen.

I might have missed the info and if so I would appreciate directions on how to find the answer, but I would love to know how you came up with the idea of starting this forum Frank. It really is not something one would expect a single guy in his mid-twenties to do.

Easy Toni, I like to do what people least expect me to do. Always have been like that, always will. Makes life interesting. Plus I wanted to challenge myself with an ambitious project that I could really connect with and viola! I'm loving every minute of it.

You should see the blank look on people's faces when I try to describe what I do or if I try to tell them about something that happened on the site on a particular day. Eyes glaze over
