I flicked him off! When I did, it took off flying.Rob said he thinks its a locust! Is it?? I hope NOT!
Denee here's a close up piccie of a locust for you. Sorry but it does look a lot like the insect on your passion vine. Edit: Photo no longer exists
Oh pooie! :'( Should I spray my insect stuff on it?? I hate too cuz Im trying to get the fruit to grow! I would love to eat one! Ive never had a passion fruit before and Im wanting to get the seeds from her to share with my GardenStew friends!! I dont want to poison anyone! But Im having alot of problems with plant eatters on my Passion vine! I am having to check my vine at least three times a day and twice at night to make sure nothing is eatting it. Gt rid of the caterpillars only to have them replaced with locust! Figures!
Order: Orthoptera Common Name--Katydids (related to grasshoppers and crickets) There are some 4,000 species of katydids in the world. Katydids get their name from the way their songs sound. Some katydids have been called long-horned grasshoppers because of their long and slender shape. However, all katydids are more similar and related to crickets than grasshoppers.
