WOW! I'm not even sure what I am looking at. Is that a rhinoseros at the top? And a bell on the post at the top? Very creative.

    Think it's a Triceratops :D

The bell is for when we're out in the grounds, there's 4 acres so we need something bigger than a doorbell :)

Next to that is the solar panel for the lights above the gate bar, just took a pic but the lights are moving and the camera didn't pick them out very well...

Ah-aitt then— I toldja are mailboxes were uninteresting:

Right, I realise that I am going to go further with translation and explanation.

    The stickers:
    0D47103C-A59A-4661-BF2C-CD54D1987C86.jpeg

There are three choices for stickers—none, double “nee” , or “ja” and “nee”.

Nee means no and ja means yes.

    Now, the texts:
One refers to accepting little gratis local newspapers.
The other refers to printed advertisements with no addressee’s name on it.
So, a double nee means that you do not want anything that is not addressed to you.

The janee means that you do not want any advertisements, but you do want the free weekly papers.

That's fascinating, Sojerd! The few times we get mail, we usually just tear it up and dispose of it--circulars for furniture stores, insurance solicitations, and of course the ones offering a $1200 loan at about 80% interest rate! Nee, nee!

Well that was interesting Sjoerd! I wish we had such a system here, NEE & JA. Save us a lot of carting to the dump paper to be recycled.

And @Zigs I love your sign. So what is the meaning of 'School Lodge' & 'Bothy'?

Here's another disreputable mailbox seen on our walk today.

I think the box is held to the post with bungee cords!

This one has been dubbed 'The Bungee Box' by Sjoerd. A fitting name, don't you think?

I keep forgetting to photograph our mailbox set-up! I will remember eventually, promise. We have stickers saying NO to anything without name and address. Fortunately we still get the weekly free newspaper.

Oh, how nice. Chuckle. When I think about the name, it makes me wonder if a garden gnome will spring out of the mailbox on a bungee cord for fun.
Noren is the plural for Norwegian (Noor is the singular) in Dutch. I was just being playful.
