We were walking around this evening and found a Ragged Fringed Orchid (Platanthera lacera). We are so excited. It stands out in an open space where we have been walking and weeding. It seems to have appeared over night. I will protect the area tomorrow. We are supposed to get a bad wind and rain in about 30 minutes. I hope it's OK out there.
Congratulations with this "little" beauty. It is difficult for me to see the flowers, but they look lacy to me. Quite elegant.
