As my old body wants to bend and reach less and less, I have got a reacher thingy that adds 2 ft to your arm's length. Works great for stuff up on a shelf etc. Now, what I was wondering is does anybody make one that has sort of a duckbill jaw on it for gardeners to weed with? Or even an adaptor for the one I have?
When I fell last fall. Customer back steps for her apartment-one let loose.I had it in back. So I have garden claw tool. Then went and picked things up with picker tool that Garden claw couldn't catch. Or vacuumed them up with leaf bagger-blower.
I have one that has flat pieces on it that could be used for weeding. I use it with the yard tractor and a trailer and pick up sticks out of the yard with it. Don't have to get off the tractor that way. I think I may have gotten it at Home Depot or Lowes. I also keep one in the car and when I get the paper at the end of the drive, I don't have to get out of the car to get it.
Guy in town collects pop cans- 5 cent deposit. Goes around with golf cart and picks them up. Jerry gives me heck for getting on hand and knee weeding. But wear pads and have foam pad.
Ames makes a long-handled dandelion weeder (that's their name, but it works on all weeds) that is basically a long screwdriver with a V notch in the end. It is made for stand-up weeding, and gets the root and all. If you have a lot of rocks or heavy clay soil, it isn't sturdy enough to work well, but on garden soil or loam, it's fine. Ames True Temper long-handled dandelion weeder 1941600 and it should cost about $12. (Yes, I have an Ames catalog! )
