The year I was born The Weavers had a hit with Goodnight, Irene.

A firm favourite of mine was San Francisco by Scott MacKenzie (1967) and in 1968 I listened to songs like Garry Puckett: Young Girl, The Beatles: Hey Jude and Bobby Godsboro: Honey - ahhh the memories!!

Many thanks Philip - now I can listen to them all again any time I want to. :D

    Hi Jerry,
glad you find the link useful,..you mentioned Goodnight Irene,..when the hurricane of that name was blowing,..so like Eileen,..you remember that song, lol.

    Hi Eileen,
oh i remember that song,.."Good Night Irene",..aha pinpointed you, :) ,..i was going to school around that time, .

Gary Puckett,.."Young Girl",..gosh that song is still with me,..that was a good hit,.."San Francisco",.."Honey",..and the Beatles,..you liked similar songs to me back then.

In the 1960's i came home from serving in the middle east,..took a break in Ireland,..then flew to Liverpool,England to see my Mother and sister,..my sister and her boyfriend took me to a local club called the Cavern,..there were a group playing there who were very popular in the clubs at that time,..two years later we heard them on the radio,..it was of course The Beatles.

I'm so glad for this link. I like the song San Francisco too, whenever I hear the opening I feel happy...silly I know, but true. I often make slideshows for myself and that is one my favorites to insert in the slideshow. I also like "Young Girl," and when I was in sixth grade was lucky enough to be at a concert at the Atlantic City "Steel Pier." The main attraction was Gary Puckett and the Union Gap. A good memory. I can't wait to make good use of this link. Thanks!
