With this rain, we have been going to the lottie sporadically and processing things at home. At the lottie the green manure is coming along fine. Take a look at these two plots: ...and this one: This is an overview of the veggie plots: Last week we harvested a massive amount of blueberries. Now we have Pink blueberries! You heard that right, pink blueberries. They are called "Pink Lemonade". Here they are on the bush: Here they are in the pan on the fire: You can see that there is some "whiteness " on many of the pink blueberries. They ripen like apples, in the sense that what turns red is the surfaces that are facing the sun. Then finally, potted-up and ready for the pantry shelf. Now then, in a couple of hours, I shall pop out to the lottie and remove the final frames from the hives. I really have to time it good, because moisture is the enemy of honey fresh from the hive.
Beautiful photos Sjoerd! What are the two green manures that you are using? Those pink lemonade blueberries are beautiful! How does the taste compare to regular blueberries? I can't believe all that you and the Bride do. You put me to shame.
@Cayuga Morning .. me too!!! I would go absolutely nuts in your garden @Sjoerd. Those pink blueberries ..man those are beautiful. All of it is just beautiful.
All I can say is I'm impressed with the two of you. OKAY, I can also admit to a slight bit of jealousy. Not of the finished product. Rather of your ability to produce such beautiful veggies and fruit, in spite of weather, etc. Two amazing gardeners.

The only things wrong with the internet is that you can't convey fragrance and taste...such a pity.
Wondering how you liked your pink blueberries? Thought about getting a bush of them last spring. Have some golden everbearing raspberries that are delightful and still producing flowers and fruit.
I like them fine, they are a tad sweeter than the conventional blue variety. I made a jam combined from the red and blue blueberries and I feel that the taste of this is better than just the plain blue jam. The red ones make a nice-tasting jam on their own. So, I am well pleased with them. It took my little bushes a coupla years before they yielded what I had expected...but now, they bore a heavy harvest. One thing though, you do have to keep them netted or else the birds will eat every berry on the bush!
I like everything except the part about birds eating the berries. I guess the birds need sustenance too.
