Those are great photos! Turtles are so calming to watch. Love turtles!

 

I like turtles, too. I see them crossing the road occasionally and have to resist the urge to stop and help them so they won't get ran over. I wrote a story for Writer's Guild called, "Little Turtle and the Big Wide Road" after one such incident. You will notice my avatar here.

I always have to sneak up on turtles to take a picture. I think painted turtles don't like to have their picture taken.

Nice photos. We get to see them like that in the ditches after a really good rain.

 

Your pic is a common sight here, too.

When I see them crossing a road, I, too, want to hurry them along.

 

I myself have never ever seen any turtle that resided in fresh water. The only kind we have over here are sea turtles (which love salt water).
