Logan yes , the whole process looks vaguely familiar. Just multiply that tiny space into 3 acres. Kinda the process in which my garden had become established. Lovey turn out and well worth all the time effort & planning . That garden will be everlasting for years to come.

Pacnorwest, your 3 acres must look wonderful in the growing season, i haven't got any ponds but i try to grow flowers for the insects.
