    Here is the biggest woodpecker in North America feeding a youngster. Taken in the garden. They have been coming to the garden for 12 years now.

    Every time I see a photograph of these woodpeckers I always think of punk hairdos. I wonder why??;)

    We had these when we lived in New London, WI. I remember the first time I saw one flying I couldn't believe my eyes on how big they are. Great photo...
