I've had Trend Micro as my spyware since I got my pc(5 years)It is auto renew & they have my cc #.Recently I got a nasty virus & computer guy told me Trend Micro is worthless.Told me to get Kaspersky. My pc had to be wiped clean & I installed Kaspersky when I got it home.Next month Trend M. will come up for renewal & I'm sure they will do it. I get no reports from them & can find no trace on my computer but I have gotten a newsletter from them
What should I do to make sure I'm severed from them?

If Trend Micro software is no longer resident on your computer then the previously allowed access to your computer should be nullified. Your firewall should be on by default with the no exceptions box checked but look to make sure.

P.S. You may want to call them and indicate that you no longer want to auto-renew.

The best and most recommended one and also free is "Malewarebytes" and it works well with AVG2012. Have been using both on my 4 PC's with NP's and no viruses for years.

I'm glad they provided unsubscribe instructions, as you don't want them charging your card. Good luck with your new virus protection.
