First Monarch of the season

    The Monarch migration has started, and we saw our first yesterday, sipping on the zinnias. I'm sure we have them out in the pasture with the wildflowers but, with the wind and overcast weather, we didn't venture out to check on butterflies.
    In most of the USA people notice the seasons by weather, fall foliage, spring blossoms. Here we notice the seasons by what birds and bugs show up!

    Jane, it is a spektakel that I always look forward to hearing about. It is just remarkable. It is so interesting that you notice seasonal chnges by observing migratory insects and animals. Too bad that your weather isn’t good enough for piccies.
