Daikon radish? Horseradish would have a distict odor, even uncut. Just a guess on my part.

I'm getting Daikon radish on an image search too.

Are you sure they're a cultivated crop before you go trying them? @cuatro-gatos

I'd hate to think of anyone trying a wild root without knowing what it is, there's lots of things like Hemlock Water Dropwort out there that will kill you to death

It also looks a bit like a turnip. They are a bit more rounded at the bottom when I look at pictures, and the radish seems to have a more pointed bottom. Best idea is to ask the person who gave them to you.
Oh crikey, looking in the mirror, I'm definitely a turnip

It is definitely a radish or in Japanese a daikon. Is one of my favourite vegetable.
It is great for boiling soup , these 2 ingredients are optional -
    • 1 tbsp dried scallops
    • 1 large piece dried cuttlefish
If you do not have dried dates you can omit that too.
A simple dip for the daikon and pork ribs would be just soya sauce, if you like chili use fresh cut chili and if you like fresh garlic add in a clove or two of finely chopped garlic.
Try it, I am sure you'll enjoy it. :)

@Tetters Kimchi is a Korean dish. It is a spicy lacto fermented cabbage and vegetable dish. We make it sometimes.
