Good day all, I've added a new link when viewing forum topics above the 'Recent Blog Entries' column. If you click 'Mini View' you will see a more streamlined version of forum topic pages, minus the bulk before the topic posts actually start. Mini View link location ( photo / image / picture from Frank's Garden ) Give it a try. You can always switch back to Classic View at any time by clicking the 'Classic View' link. You must be signed in to change views. // frank
I saw it last night but didn't get a chance to check it out and now I can't find the 'Recent Blog Entries' column at all.
Sounds like you are already in the 'mini view' format. Look for 'classic view,' click on it and the 'Recent Blog Entries' should come back. Jerry
Frank, you've done again! Such a good idea, the "mini-view". Thanks for making the website even more user friendly.
I do like it. I like the classic view too though, the picture of the month and other things on there. So it's nice to be able to switch back and forth easily. Very nice Frank.
Thanks DB. The bulky area before topic posts was a complaint I had heard when I asked new members what they might change if they had the chance. I do like the Classic View also.
Semantics and nomenclature when dealing with most things computer related have been the cause of miscommunication and some heated discussion between hubby and I since he brought our first computer in the house and plugged it in. It was those two that also caused me to misunderstand where the Mini View and Classic View buttons were located. I click on the word Forums at the top ( which lists all the Forum Topics) and scoured that whole 'page' for the Recent Blog Entries and the Mini View or Classic View button. Not there and neither was a section called Recent Blog Entries This morning I started searching again and was beginning to think that Linux was playing tricks on me by not accepting the change for some reason....but I finally did find the button at the top of each page of each topic. So now I am set. Yes, I like the Mini View better too. Thanks Frank
It was a bit hard to describe its location in words so I've added a screenshot as an aid. Glad it worked out Toni
Many thanks Frank. Everything you do for us here seems to improve the forums and this new addition is no exception.
