While Randy was in Washington DC early this month I used the time to clear out and paint the upper kitchen cabinets since I didn't plan on cooking that week anyway. I finally found a use for 4 of the 6" tiles I had painted a few years ago and posted Coffee Tiles Once I filled that shelf with coffee cups you can't see much of the tiles but I know they are there
That's talent. I like that idea very much, Toni. That kind of art really sells here on the coast. gardengater
Like I said, the tiles can't be seen with the cups on the shelf and being the only daily coffee drinker in the family who only drinks one cup a day I do have a lot of cups. But I had to have the snowflake ones to use in winter, the stars are for company and the 15 (his old number) and 55 (his new number) are both my favorite NASCAR driver, Micheal Waltrip.
I liked the tiles on the shelf on their own Toni. However, now that I've seen the coffee mugs there too I think they look smashing!! Another very creative idea!!
Oh, man , I just had an idea of what to do with blank tiles I still have. I need to get out the markers and the pictures of herbs I have printed out. I can hang them along the kitchen soffit.
You are just full of great ideas, Toni. Those tiles look quite nice in that cabinet. Not only do you get good ideas, but you doo good handicraft work as well. Well done.
Thanks ya'll. I had lots of fun painting those. Hopefully I can get started on the rest of them tomorrow, it is supposed to be hovering around 103 tomorrow so I won't be outside.
I second Wrennie, Yikes!! 103, ohh geez, i would melt and dry up and evaporate with that temp,,lol. The tiles look great, alone or with the cups,, that was a great idea to brighten the cup space, and also intrest to what is behind all the cool cups. Good go! I would love to see the herb tiles also when you get done. I would use them the same way but put up your herbs when dried to show them off. I'm sure where ever you put them it will look great!
I sure do like your lovely tiles toni and can't wait to see the others. Its been that hot here too and my plants sure look it.
Your tiles look great Toni! What a wonderful idea. Oh I can hardly wait to see your herb tiles and what you do with them! Michael Waltrip! I love him too!
Sure looks fantastic and so creative! Do you mind sharing what kind of paint do you use for the tiles?
