I love to tuck a bit of art into my garden for a little added pizazz. I know a lot of folks think yard art is cheesy, but if done the right way, I think it can add a lot of interest year round. You've got some very pretty yard art there. I especially like the first and last one, but the dragonflies are nice too.
I agree that garden art can look really effective if placed in just the right situation. The ghecko in the last piccie is lovely.
Pippa, I love your yard art. I have some of it and enjoy it. As you said there are some that don't care for it, but it is my yard.
Ornaments if done tastefully can certainly add to a landscape, however as you've pointed out, many times it does end up looking "cheesy. Gazing balls and the like tend to get the curled brow effect, LOL. but yes, use of ornamentation in a landscape can be quite appealing.
I have things outside but it's true that it can be overdone. There is a yard here in our little town that has so much yard junque that you cannot see the yard. They've even made a river with an island with a fake palm tree. It's really ugly looking in my opinion but it's their yard and they must think it's beautiful. dooley
I love yard art and yours is certainly artistic. Among the ones in my yard is a cherub in a flower-festooned bird bath, a garden fairy, and a little cat. Love what you have done. Gardengater
Thanks for your comments I don't know if it actually qualifies as "yard art", but wait until you see what we do to the house at Halloween. No One would call it tasteful....but it is a lot of fun! Pippa
I like yard art. In many ways, yard art reflects an individual's personality. A persons yard should reflect their tastes (done tastefully) in design, color etc. When I talk with people on landscapes etc. I suggest to put their personality into it, don't simply follow a design someone else made up. You have to live with it and look at it everyday, make it something you enjoy. Ron

I love your yard art but I have decided to get rid of lots of mine as its hard to get around it with my mower and I will reduce my yard some too.Its getting to hard for me to handle so it needs to go back to grass.It breaks my heart but I must.
