Monarchs...and a dragonfly...

    I was pleasantly surprised to have 2 Monarchs visit my yard over the weekend..Our weather has warmed again but signs of fall are showing...the leaves are starting to fall ....

    on this picture one is on the cosmos...

    Here one is on my viburnum bush...I was told the birds like the berries but none have shown interest yet...

    Here he is on the butterfly bush...they kept switching to different things all the time...kept me busy moving around watching them...

    This dragonfly sat on the stone on the front of the house for quite a while...I love the blue on him..anyone know what kind he is?

    Lovely butterflies and dragonfly. I don't know which kind it is, but it's a beauty. I really like those.

    Yoiu just take the best nature pics-- always something interesting, and these are no exception.
    I enjoy seeing them very much.

    Monarch butterflies need milkweed plants to survive as a species. The milkweed adds a toxin to their bodies that keeps other pests from having them for lunch. ;)
    We've got plenty of milkweed on seome property we own, and the monarchs love it.
