    Hi,
This may not be the best place to post this but I need help! I am trying to use Photobucket and thanks to my Middle Eastern excuse of an Internet connection, it keeps timing out. Anyone have suggestions for other sites that may be a little more lenient with slow access? We are desperately trying to find a better connection but in the meantime...I was so excited because I went a little crazy at the plant souk (ok, a lot crazy but the prices were great, the vendors were great and the sun must have made me a little overexcited. I will be planting forever and I still have my seedlings indoor to move out eventually!) and I wanted to share what I found with everyone. I guess I'll go back to digging and amending soil until I can get some photos up..

I have a bad internet connection too.
Make sure that your photo's are no larger than 800X600 when you are uploading them, but the smaller they are the better. I have problems uploading to Photobucket occasionally and that tends to frustrate me to the point of not posting photos. Also I seem to have better luck in the early morning.
    Hope this helps a little.

If you reduce the file size of your images they will take less time to upload and therefore there will be less chance of a timeout disrupting their upload.

You can use a photo editing program to reduce your image file size. What you should look for is a JPEG quality setting when exporting an image from your program. The lower you set this quality setting the lower the file size will become (although don't set it too low or you will loose image quality). Software like GIMP should help you do this.

Greenfairy-- what you need to do is have two pages open at once: one for the writing on GardenStew and one open with Photobucket and your pics to transfer. Do you know how to get two website pages open at the same time?

If you have two website pages open at once you can easily copy and paste the code on Photobucket to GardenStew.

We can get through this, I promise. ;)
Don't give up...there are loads of folks here that will be so delighted to see your fotos.

I highlight my writing and paste it on my notepad in accessories and just keep it on the taskbar till I am done. Then I just copy and paste it where I want it. Notepad never times out. I use it all the time.
    Hope that helps.
