I was hit & run over by a car, & just spent a bit of time in the hospital. I am going crazy without my plants, so I want to start out with some indoor plants until I am allowed to fully garden again. Any suggestions for easy, not over the top expensive plants that do well inside?
Peace Lillies are lovely I have had one for 7 years that has grown very well though I have trouble getting it to flower, It has been without water at times and has only been fed a couple of times yet it is outgrowing its pot again and needs splitting and repotting, I would definately give one a good home.
Oh, poor you! Did they manage to find woever hit you? Please heal quickly! *big, careful hug* I'm an idiot with house plants, I can even kill cacti, so I won't dare give you any tips.
sorry stephinalta I forgot to say I am sorry about your accident and I wish you a speedy recovery, I hope that the person who hit you pays his dues.
Oh my gosh Stephinalta! I sure hope your injuries weren't too severe and you are on the mend!(((hugs))) African Violets do well for me. Or maybe you could start some seeds that you can set out in the garden when you are able.
OMG Stephinalta I hope you weren't too badly injured!! Are you going to be OK? Oh I do hope so. Poor you. I have quite a few house plants that do well indoors. As Playtime and Netty suggested African violets and Peace lilies are great - I have both. I also have a Jade plant, Orchid, Bonsai tree, Lucky bamboo, Devil's ivy a Pitcher plant and a Jasmine (smells wonderful), Dragon Tree, Amaryllis, Parlour palm and a Flaming Katy. Geraniums also do well indoors and flower for ages. I hope you'll soon be able to get back outdoors to your garden again but please be very careful as we don't want you hurting yourself after what you've already been through.
Hope you recover fully soon,Stephanie. I have a Jade plant and pothos and am planning to get coleus. I heard they do well as house plants.
OMG, Steph...when did this happen? Are you doing OK, or at least as well as can be expected? Did they catch the crazy driver? Please keep us posted on your recovery.Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
Hi Stephinalta- I hope you feel well soon. I would suggest my some herbs and maybe miniature roses. I have lots of roses since I get them for every holiday. Again I hope you feel better soon.
it was actually my fault, my neice told me that I didnt look right then left, then right again. Pretty much she is correct. I have a pothos, a small jade plant, some plant I dont know the name of that my mom got me from ikea & the cuttings/starts that I am keeping or preparing for others inside now, I used to keep them all outside. also a venus fly trap I think I might have murdered & a pitcher plant that I have been trying to take cuttings from (they always die) that I keep inside when its cold that I might keep inside year round my problem is how do you know when they are not getting enough light? & I think I am over watering them.
I had wondered where you had gone.I'm so sorry you were hurt.I do hope you are doing ok and soon be in the yard digging.A big easy hug to you.
Say "Hi, to a Phil" Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you recover fully. My brother is still going through physical therapy from his accident last year. My favorite house plant that is no trouble is the Philodendron. It can live in water; it takes drought. I think they are marvelous because without fertilizer they stay small leaved. If you want them big, treat them nice and add a "little" fertilizer. They can even grow well fairly far from natural light and do OK in artificial light. Philodendron Take care of yourself and enjoy a little greenery Philodendron
