A sure sign of spring--???

Here is a sure sign of spring, even though I see mounds of snow out there. Daylight savings time starts this up coming Saturday night to Sunday morning. That, however, just like old Punxsutawney Phil, and March coming in like a Lamb all mean about the same, since spring will come, when it comes, and there isn't a thing we can do to change it. Another sign, the horses are starting to loose their winter coats. We have had snow since late September, and will likely have it until sometime in April, and that's just the way it is every year. But it's fun to say that this and that are sure signs of spring, so my thought for today is daylight savings time will make it seem more like spring..

The new sign of spring: 9 inches of snow. The weather has been so crazy here in TN that I wouldn't be surprised to see a snow mid spring!

 

I agree Calomaar...spring will be here when it's good and ready. There is nothing any groundhog can do about it!
Daylight savings time sure will help make it FEEL more like spring

 

My calendar says March 20 is the first day of spring. I kind of always thought it was March 21st but what difference does a day make. We could never plant anything that wasn't cold hardy until May when we lived in Wisconsin and sometime in April when we lived at 4,200 ft in Arizona. At the lower altitude we planted all winter but some things still take more heat so there was winter gardens and summer gardens. dooley

 

It got up to 62 deg. F here today. I worked for a while outside getting winters trash out of the yard. Dead sticks etc. that had fallen from the trees. I did hear several robins calling. These were all down in the brush scraping the dead leaves aside getting worms.

 

We're not starting those for another couple of weeks, but I'm looking forward to it. It's handfast proof that spring is here, no matter what it looks like outside.

 

I just love walking in the yard more and hearing the birds singing...still have snow here and expecting another dumping tomorrow but with the birds singing and my daffodils coming up, spring is on its way....I just love spring, my favorite time of year to see the buds popping on the trees and things....Sherry

 

Yes Dooley, my daughter was always very proud to have been born on the first day of spring, but I believe it has been altered because of the changes to our seasons due to global warming....is winter getting shorter or is it just moving backwards?

I spent a LOVELY day in my very own garden today and got loads done and there is so much colour now and so many buds. In fact, i think I will go get my camera and go and take a few snaps before it gets dark.
