I have the long flower bed four shovels wide now. It's almost ready to plant flowers. I bought two boxes and several packages of alyssum seeds and will mix them all together. I still have to finish putting the tiles along the front and put some compost in but the digging and pulling up the grass is finished. See how the morning glories are marching along the back of the bed by the porch.

While I was sitting on the porch to empty the dirt out of my shoes I was looking around at the yard, thinking about what to do next. I'm thinking of putting a bed around the windmill. A circle several feet across. I noticed how green the trees are getting. That big tree across the road didn't have any leaves a couple of weeks ago. Now, it looks great. I guess as the leaves grow it will fill in and you won't be able to see through it.

Do you see how thick the morning glories are coming up? I am hoping they will shade the porch from the hot afternoon sun. I have alyssum to plant now and will add flowers as the year progresses. I don't want it to frost and kill all of them at once. dooley

The morning glories are so thick and grew so fast. Hope they fill in and give you good shade. Can't wait to see your flower bed colorful and full.

I mixed them all up so I had to go check the packages. There is light blue, pink ones going from light to dark, a sort of purple and white called Flying Saucers, a mix of dark blue, purple and pink that I had in Arizona, and some called Grandpa Ott's that Glenda shared. They were from Stratsmom. There is also some sweet peas, a mixture, and some cardinal vine. dooley

Those Morning Glories are going to look so good with all the different colours growing together. Just look at those trees of yours turning green already!! Like Droopy I'm rather jealous of everything you have sprouting in your garden. ;)
