    I have recently purchased http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-pl-85pe.htm

One socket is plugged into my dad's pc room downstairs (where the router is)

The other is plugged into a socket in my room...and then connected to my pc....and the other is connected to my sisters pc in her room.

    But..

..I keep loosing connection..in a funny way....I will be signed in on MSN and I will be browsing the internet..and the pages will take ages to load..and then it will say this page cant be displayed....but im still signed in on msn.....

My sisters pc works fine...and we have changed the sockets around...and mine will work on her pc...but hers doesnt seem to work on mine, it has the same problem

    Hope you can help

    Hi Doyle,

Well going on what you are saying it seems like the problem may lie with your computer itself. Have you tried to test using your Dad's adapter?

with a powerline all connections must be on the same circuit. so if you live in a big house it may not work

it almost sounds like you have a virus or something. My desktop used to do that until I ran a virus scan program and removed some files, now it runs smoothly

I think problem is in sharing your lan connections, or if it is a big house there will be some problem ,check your switch and ports also . I think problem lies in sharing the connection.

    Powerline possible issues

It could be that there is some interference on your circuit, but probably that would interfere with your sister's too.

Could your's be too far from the transmitter and your sister's closer to it?

It could also be that the wiring in your house is 3 phased, and your computer is on a different phase than your sister's. When they have 1 wire in common, it might sometimes work and sometimes not.

One way to find out would be to place your computer next to your sister's, and see if it works there.

I have gone through a problem

I have gone through your problem. I think internet connection is getting disconnected due to some loose connection in your room.It is not a very major problem at all but you should not try to repair it with your own as it may lead to further complications.
