Two grew to four, then the other eggs went missing, we had four little bundles of fluff running around the nest for two days then I think mother moved them on.

I hope she brings them back as she did last year, they nip into the duck shead for light snacks through the day and who leaves a free buffet!

They are so good at hiding though, with an old willow in the middle of the river, rooting where it touches, they have some good spots to hide.

One chick never left from last year, as they say round here "owt fa nowt guw wi a barra" or if your posh "anything for nothing go with a wheelbarrow" so I feel sure they wont be far away.

Oh I do hope you see mum and her babies again. I'd love to see more piccies as the youngsters grow. I wonder if the other eggs were predated as this happens around here quite often? So pleased that four managed to hatch though. :-D

They're so cute! I didn't know that mother birds moved babies? I just always thought they stayed in the nest until they flew out on their own.

Love those nursery photos. Who feeds them when mother moves them?

I thought the same as Lee. Never knew that they were moved, until they 'moved' themselves! Great shot.
