It is in southwest Florida and in my fathers backyard. He keeps getting very bad skin irritation from it and even when the wind blows and it still gets him if he not directly in front of it. I have searched the internet but cant find it. Thanks for ur help.

    Hi,
Can you redo the pictures, they are black in your 'My Garden' album. And when you get them redone, please insert them into the message so we can see the clearly.

I'm having a hard time seeing that as a vine, but perhaps it is "Virginia Creeper," quite a pretty and massive vine used in the proper place. Native, too, but I would not want it in a flower bed.

The Google view on virginia creeper:

    Looks like Virginia Creeper.

From Wiki & Dave's Garden Plant files
    ***
Oxalate crystals are also contained in the sap & leaves, and can cause irritation and skin rash ***

I have never had a rash from handling it.

Thanks for all the replies. I do think that it is the Virginia Creeper.

I agree - Virginia Creeper. Interestingly, yesterday I was chatting with a neighbor and she said that she gets a terrible rash from Virginia Creeper. Said she can't even go near it. I suppose some folks have an allergic reaction to it.

I bet that I would be getting rid of it, or have someone else do it. Is it like poison ivy in that it bothers some people and doesn't others? My son can just be down wind of poison ivy and breaks out! :scheming:

I guess that is the case, KG. The Creeper doesn't bother me at all, skin wise. Thank goodness since it comes up in lots of places in my yard. If it did, I would be having it removed too.
