I like! I like! What are the bulb things you were holding in your hand? Did any of those grow that I sent you? I think some of the lily seeds you sent me popped up :smt038

Beautiful selection of colours. I like the second to last one, very exotic, what is it? I bet we couldn't grow these outdoors here.

i think the strange looking one is Leonotis Leonurus. i got the seeds from someone. i guess. they are from seeds planted this spring and they are well above my height... around 2,5 m tall.
i think i was told they are hardy enough and perennial, but i guess i'd have to give it a try and see.
when the seeds are ripe i'll be collecting some.
    anyone interested?
    LOL

holding in my hand? in the pics above i am only holding a gaillardia i guess.

    happy u like them :)

Leonotis! This plant seemed to be in all the garden shops near me about ten years ago, but I never saw it in anyone's garden. So it is familiar to me only from the shops.

What intrigues me is the appearance of your soil. So different from mine. Is it perhaps of volcanic origin? In some pictures it appears sandy, it some it appears silty. The way it cracks on the surface reminds me of what we call gumbo soil near swamps here, especially along the southern most part of the Mississippi River.

Very colourful flowers. They all look pretty. Do you have any pics showing how they are situated?
I could just look at these pics all night.

hey joan. yup. leonotis. got the seeds while looking for perennial seeds... and hardy ones, of course. the plants are very tall... way above my height. can't wait to see if they come back next spring.
the soil... well i really don't know if it's volcanic or not...
the cracking... probably comes from the fact that i have to water a lot and therefore the soil becomes hard and flat once it dries up and well... it also cracks. where i have my flower garden it's more or less soil my dad brought from somewhere else, and not the best quality. but i manage!
it's a little sandy. easy to work with, though!

Sjoerd.... i looked in the entire album and it looks like i got no pics of the entire flower garden. i will take some soon. problem was the plants were all to small a while ago and now they are all big and some even done flowering... time flies!!!
i missed the daylilies and even some of my lilies as i don't see the garden everyday.

just uploaded latest pics taken last nite. here is the first new one and you can just go to the next with "NEXT" LOL
