Start with as much Root Beer as you want wine...i.e. a gallon of Root Beer for a gallon of wine.
Use all natural Root Beer, the preservatives in the usual brands will kill the yeast.

Two cups sugar for each gallon of Root Beer, let sit until the Root Beer goes flat.

Add Champagne yeast to that and continue with your favorite wine making instructions.

He uses Champagne yeast for all his wines, it works best and creates a stronger alcohol content.

    Now that sounds good!

    But,,,,

For those of us in Europe where Root Beer is an American drink, i have found some recipes to make natural root beer.

This one has no carbonation, so maybe better for the wine?

    http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Homemade-R ... etail.aspx

This one is a longer process and with carbonation, but thinking when the yeast is added as this recipe says maybe just start there for the wine, instead of waiting a couple of weeks.

Middle of this page is the recipe.

Thanks toni!! Always willing to try something new.

Check your area for a wine making shop, they have all the supplies for the process including the yeasts.
