Here is the living room of my loft. Huge, and wide open with a lot of space. Without decreasing the feeling of size, I would like some ideas on how to make it feel more homely instead of like a warehouse.

My first idea is this custom entertainment center I designed in Autocad (see below), will this work? (will be going against the brick where the existing entertainment center is right next to the power breaker box in pic on let).

So what I really need are some more design ideas to go along with this entertainment center. I also have several large mirrors that you may see in the pics, and I'm wondering where to put them.

Your help/assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my gosh! Many people would kill for a loft like that! And you want to make it modern. ;) Just kidding...I know everyone has their own style and taste. Wish I could help you with ideas of how to make it your own.

Little bit of Modern and Old Style

Well what I am going for is a mashup of Old style meets modern. I'm trying to use patterns that match the shape and style of the brick. This is why I used all square and rectangle shapes in the entertainment center design (as well as my existing coffee and end tables, which I was also thinking of painting, input would be great on that).

Let me show you some pictures of the kitchen so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.

I painted the kitchen with a flat red wall, with grey borders. Then I used the grey to paint the duct work (was painted white before) and the hallway leading to my bathroom.

Your opinions of what I have done so far would be great as I'm no interior designer, (Well unless you consider the inside of a computer interior design, lol) but I've always had an artistic side so I thought I would give it a shot.

I love the entertainment center you designed! To make it more cozy, I would paint the ceiling dark brown or a deep red (pulling the color from your bricks.) You could also run some faux beams horizontally across the space, but hang them 24-36" below the HVAC equipment. The horizontal beams will visually break up the space and the darker ceiling will make it feel shorter which will keep it modern but a little more home-like.
    Good luck!

I like the idea about painting the ceilings. Did you pick those lights or were they already there? I ask because in this particular case, those spot lights seem to reinforce that warehouse feeling. Might want to consider some more decorative fixtures.
