Its nice to see that you get a visiting hawk, BW. There are several people on here that are so lucky. I wish that there were hawks or falcons on the allotments here...it might cut down on the rabbit problem. It looks like a very cold day when it visited.
Great shots of your hawk BW. Ours (Sparrowhawks) are having a rough time of it in this weather as the other birds see them so clearly against the snow.
Great photos. We have a lot of red-tailed hawks here, but unfortunately, they don't frequent my yard...and like Sjoerd, my rabbits are out of control here again this winter. :'(
Beautiful hawk. We've got goshawks but rarely see them. We do see eagles quite frequently but I don't think I want them on my porch.
He's a beautiful thing. Excellent pics. We have nice great horned owls here that help with the rabbit problem.
great pics bw! like someone said above, looks cold there! we have eagles, owls and hawks here also. they go after the moles and voles here...ot too much problems with rabbits...
Nice shots! He looks like the one that visits my Lilac tree, but somehow bigger. It must be a female.
The 4 picture doesn't look like the tail end of most of my hawks. Looks like you had some gloomy weather...I hope you get some sunny shots of them.
I love Hawks. I don't usually get to see them upclose like you did so I can't make a definite ID, they are normally sitting in the tree tops along some roads or circling above my neighborhood looking for food. We have both Coopers Hawks and Red-tailed Hawks and several others, wish they would come closer so I could photograph them.
Because the way he is sitting especially the first one.. He looks like one of those plastic statues that you put in the garden to scare other birds away
