I fell in love with sedums last year. Or should I say I became obsessed with them last year. :-D While reading my regional online paper I came across a new trend from California of creating wall hangings with sedums. Of course in the article thought/pictured "huge" but being able to show the little plants off sure appeals to me. Am going to have to give this a try this spring scaled way down of course. ;)

There is a blog by Flora Grubb "verticle succulent garden" but the site with just the sedums is: http://floragrubb.com/florasblog/?cat=25 I loved the pictures of some of the possibilities. What do you think? I'd love to see what some of us home gardeners could do with the idea. :stew1:

Those are awesome! I love the big tub and could envision it being very relaxing! I think one of these wall hangings would be a very nice to make...scaled down of course! :D
I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Thanks for sharing this with us!

There was an article in our local paper on the 14th about her and the vertical gardens that are becoming more prevalent.

you have to click on français as your language choice to get the site to work. He is a botanist in France who has been creating these planted walls for 10 years.
There are some gorgeous ones around the world.

WOW! Toni, thanks for sharing Patrick Blanc's creations. Truly awe inspiring.

When I look at the amount of vegetation in our local rain forest and realize that it is almost impossible to grow a traditional "vegie garden" because there is no dirt, just rocks under the moss. Yet everything is so green and lush. Great article and fantastic photos.

With the right planning no area is too small for a garden with his methods. Thanks for sharing something more :-D
