Does anyone sew or crochet for dolls? My new honorary neices play with Barbie and now 18" MAdame Alexander dolls. Just wondering what you all do.

I crocheted Barbie an extensive wardrobe including wedding dress when my oldest was playing with hers. When my youngest discovered Barbie several years later I sewed several dresses for hers. But that was 35+ years ago for the oldest and 15+ years ago for the youngest.
But I do remember, at the time I was sewing, that crocheting them was so much easier than sewing those tiny pieces of fabric together. ;)

I sewed the doll clothes by hand on the small intricate seams but used the machine for the longer seams. I can do much smaller and finer work by hand.

My plan is to do most of the sewing by hand. I figure this could make a good "TV Project."

I made some doll clothes for Barbie, oh, about thirty odd years ago. I think they were for my little sister who is 12 years younger than me. Anyway, I do remember I had the most interesting pattern. It was self-lined. You sewed the seams and then somehow pulled it out of the top, and then you didn't have to worry about raggedy edges on the seams. You might be able to find some similar instructions somewhere on the internet.
