Thank you! I just hope this lasts. It can rain all week for what I care, as long as the snow goes away. It's some kind of Sedum spathulifolium, Toni. They come in different shades of red and also grey/red. They're ever so willing and spread like wildfire here. If I drop a rosette it immediately starts growing.

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaay--So then, spring has sprung there then? It was so nice to see those snow bells and crocuses...but the thing that I want to know about is the Clematis. Which one is it? Gawd! Do you never prune that thing? hahahaha My favourite foto was the one with snow and buds. That really did show that change was on the way. Even though snow is forecast there...you know that spring is definately on the way and that there is life under the snow. Celebration time, COME ON!

Thank you all. I'm still rejoicing. Haha, well, there's freezing temps again this morning, but the sun's shining and even though everything will put itself on hold again it's started. I promise I won't cry over the next snow falls unless there's half a meter in one go again. Haha, I know it looks a mess but we prune it well every other year. It's the yellow one with hairy seed stands. Clematis tangutica I believe.
Yes Droopy, I know that one there are at least two of that clematis within walking distance of my lottie. I especially like how the dead flower looks with that those silky ball of 'hairs'. I have one type that leaves a similar type of 'ball of hairs'--it is called the Clematis vitalba - Bosrank. The flowers are tiny, white and delicate...but the dead flower is very artsy. You know, that tangutica that you have--The folks here that have that one don't actually prune it often at all (if ever). I think that they prefer a nice thick mat of vines...and they look quite good again once the foliage returns.
Thanks, cherylad. Sjoerd, we prune that clematis so hard there's nearly nothing left but the very thick main stem. It looks like a mistreated grape vine. It still blooms later in the season, and it keeps on going too. I love the effect with yellow blooms and silky seed heads together.
dear droopy, your crocus is lovely! i don't have any this year buttt maybe next year...i look forward to seeing pix of your norway gardens...what fun this forum is...hang in there spring will be here soon!tonya
